My love for cats began as a child on the family farm, where there were
always at least 20 outdoor cats and kittens to be found. We would rarely
see the kittens because the moms would keep them hidden in the barn,
but at 6-8 weeks of age, they would come out of hiding and it was my
personal mission to catch and tame each and every one! The only time
kittens were permitted in the house was to lap up spilled milk from the
kitchen floor when I "accidentally" on purpose knocked over the milk
pitcher! I knew, even then, that some day I would have my very own
indoor cat.
My dream has more than come true thanks to Gail, my mentor. In addition to
providing me with quality breeders, she spent hours sitting with me while my
first litters were being born.
I have found the Ragdoll breed to be extremely loving but also feisty and lots of fun! They love to play and don't hesitate to let me know when it's time. Often the adults forget they're not kittens and join in the fun. My babies insist on being in the same room with me, no matter what I am doing. When I am typesetting in my sunporch office, they are curled up on the top of my computer or desk, in my lap, or on their cat trees. When I'm cooking in the kitchen, they are curled up on the windowsill watching. And of course, my favorite is nighttime when they all climb in bed and snuggle with me! Working with this wonderful breed has been one of the most joyful and fulfilling experiences of my life. Each cat and kitten has a special place in my heart and it is my goal to give them a good start in life and then see that they find their way into loving homes. My cats and kittens are never caged and lots of time is invested in socializing each and every baby. Pictures of my adults and kittens can be found in Jazzmania's picture gallery - check them out!
